The right voice, for your project
I'm Kris Chlo Yam, a Filipino-Chinese voice actress born and raised in the Philippines, where I attended an international school. I'm now based in New Jersey, USA, working as a voice actor and voice-over artist.
My vocal range spans from high-pitched, youthful and childlike character voices to smooth, velvety adult female voices in the mid and lower registers. I enjoy bringing characters and stories to life through expressive performances, whether they're playful, sweet, soothing, or emotionally driven. My voice is naturally warm, clear and versatile, allowing me to adapt my delivery to the emotion, personality, and tone of each project. I take the time to understand a script, connect with the character or message and bring out the emotions behind the words rather than simply reading lines.
Listeners often describe my voice as calm, soothing, and easy to listen to, yet I'm just as comfortable switching to something fun, bubbly, and energetic. I can move between bright, high-pitched character voices and deeper, velvety tones. There's also an ASMR-like quality to my natural speaking voice, even without whispering, which makes it particularly suited for intimate storytelling, comforting narration, and immersive character performances.
While I'm open to a variety of voice-over projects, I've recently found myself especially drawn to video game voice acting, character performances, vocal efforts, and animation. I love exploring different personalities, emotions, and vocal expressions to make characters feel alive. Beyond character work, I also provide commercial voice-overs, IVR and telephone system recordings and e-learning narration adapting my delivery to suit the audience and purpose of each project.
